THE EARTH SMILES WITH FLOWERS

Are we really looking after nature or is nature looking after us?  The theme of the show was flower power. The border aimed to show that even in a small space, the power of flowers can give you the tranquil, feeling of escapism from the busy world, just as flowers can give you out on a walk in nature/ in your garden.

Inspired by long and dreamy walks through the rolling meadows of the Cotswold’s. The concept of my design was a naturalistic and whimsical cottage garden walkway, bringing the meadow style planting (mimicking the form of wild flowers) into the modern cottage style garden, through the use of planting and sustainable reclaimed materials further promoting sustainability and to encourage wildlife to flourish. I wanted to re-create that immersive, peaceful feeling when you walk into your garden, using a subtle colour palette, spikes of flowers, with added movement of the grasses and sounds of wildlife around you.
